New Arc Raiders Update Hints at Controversial Fan Theory Validation
Next week’s update for Arc Raiders might finally bring the moment fans have been anticipating: Shredders making their escape from Stella Montis. A brief teaser video shared on the official social media platform hints at this, stating, “someone forgot to close the Stella Montis doors on their way out.” This strongly suggests that Shredders will be breaking free from the underground facility, as they are the only enemies tied to a single map.
For some time, players have speculated that Stella Montis is linked to Blue Gate through underground tunnels, which could be confirmed in Tuesday’s “Flashpoint” update if Blue Gate is the only map they spread to. This seems likely, considering Shredders are quite formidable, especially for newcomers, making it improbable that they will appear in Dam Battlegrounds or Buried City.
However, the community’s reaction to the tease has been lukewarm. Many players are expressing a desire for new Arc enemies, despite last month’s “Shrouded Sky” update introducing the Comet and Firefly—two fresh adversaries. Additionally, the upcoming Riven Tides update is set to unveil a “new large Arc,” as outlined in the official roadmap. Riven Tides will also feature an entirely new map, marking the most significant addition since Stella Montis was introduced in late 2025.
That said, Shredders can be quite challenging to combat if you’re not familiar with their weaknesses, which will make Blue Gate a tougher area for farming. On the bright side, if you’re looking for their components, you can avoid the notorious PvP hotspot that is Stella Montis.
The “Flashpoint” update will also introduce a new map condition, signified by a lightning bolt on the roadmap. Following the Hurricane condition, which brought fierce winds, we might soon face thunderstorms as the next natural challenge. Additionally, a new player project is on the way, along with updates for Scrappy, everyone’s beloved pet rooster. Expect more quests as well, as is customary.
