Apple unveils iOS 26.4 featuring AI-generated playlists and shared purchases.

iOS 26.4 has arrived, bringing a host of intriguing updates. One standout feature is the new Playlist Playground in beta on Apple Music, which leverages AI to create personalized song playlists based on a text prompt, complete with a title, description, and tracklist.

Additionally, Apple Music is rolling out a concert discovery feature that helps you find local shows featuring artists from your library, as well as new recommendations tailored by the app. Other enhancements include full-screen backgrounds for album and playlist pages and a new Offline Music Recognition tool that identifies songs without needing an internet connection, delivering results automatically once you’re back online.

Apple’s Family Sharing feature has also received an upgrade, allowing each adult member to add their own payment methods for purchases, rather than relying solely on the group organizer’s method. The update introduces eight new emoji, including an orca, trombone, landslide, ballet dancer, and distorted face, along with improvements to keyboard accuracy for faster typing.

On the accessibility front, there are new features, such as an update to the “reduce bright effects” setting, which now minimizes flashes when interacting with certain elements like buttons. Apple is also making subtitle and caption settings easier to locate, and the “reduce motion” setting now more effectively minimizes animations of Liquid Glass.

In addition, macOS 26.4 has been released, featuring a new compact tab bar option in Safari and the ability to set charging limits between 80 and 100 percent to help extend your device’s battery lifespan.
