Netflix Increases Subscription Prices Once More

Netflix has raised its prices again, with the entry-level ad-supported tier now costing $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. The standard and premium plans have also seen increases, moving from $17.99 to $19.99 and from $24.99 to $26.99 per month, respectively.

This marks the first price adjustment since January 2025, during which Netflix has introduced various updates to its platform. These include the launch of video podcasts, a focus on live events, new TV games, and a refreshed interface for both its TV app and mobile version. The company also came close to acquiring Warner Bros. and its streaming service, HBO Max, for $83 billion before opting not to match a higher offer from Paramount.

In 2025, Netflix reported earnings of $1.5 billion from its expanding advertising sector, a small part of the total $45.2 billion in revenue for the year. This latest price increase follows similar hikes from other streaming services like Prime Video, Crunchyroll, Paramount Plus, HBO Max, and Apple TV Plus.

Netflix has not provided a specific reason for this price increase, having previously mentioned a commitment to delivering “more value for our customers.” It remains unclear when the new prices will take effect for current subscribers.
