Google’s AI search assistant now supports conversations in many more languages.

Google is broadening the reach of Search Live, a feature that allows you to search for information using your voice and camera. This AI-driven search assistant is now available in over 200 countries and territories, supporting numerous languages, as announced recently.

Search Live initially launched in the US last September, enabling users to point their phone’s camera at an object and ask questions aloud, like how to set up a shelving unit. The AI assistant responds with audio answers and provides links to relevant information online.

The global rollout of Search Live is powered by Google’s new Gemini 3.1 Flash Live audio-focused AI model, which is designed to be “inherently multilingual.” This updated model enhances response speed and facilitates “more natural and intuitive conversations.”

To try out Search Live, simply open the Google app on your Android or iOS device and tap the “Live” button located beneath the search bar. You can also access it through Google Lens.

Additionally, Google is introducing Translate’s real-time translation feature for iOS users. This allows iPhone owners to capture spoken language in real-time and hear translations through their headphones. The feature is also expanding to more regions, including Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the UK, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
