Exciting New Star Fox Title Set for Summer Release, Says Trusted Source

Get ready for some high-flying action! A new Star Fox game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 this summer, as revealed by trusted leaker Nate the Hate. The podcaster shared that Nintendo is developing a “classic-style Star Fox game,” suggesting it will follow the on-rails shooter format reminiscent of the original Star Fox and Star Fox 64.

This exciting news comes just a day after it was announced that Fox McCloud will make a special appearance in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with actor Glen Powell lending his voice to the character.

Details about the upcoming Star Fox game are still under wraps. According to Nate the Hate, who cited an unnamed source, the visuals are expected to be impressive and satisfying, and the game will include online multiplayer features. He anticipates an official announcement in April, likely in a surprise drop similar to how Nintendo revealed Splatoon Raiders.

In addition to the new Star Fox title, Nate the Hate also expects to see Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and a Switch Sports game for the Switch 2 this summer.

The last entry in the series was Star Fox 2, which was originally developed for the Super NES but never released until it became part of the Super NES Classic Edition lineup and later joined Nintendo Switch Online.

Before Star Fox 2, Nintendo launched Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard, both created in collaboration with PlatinumGames. Star Fox Zero combined the series’ signature on-rails shooting with ground-based gameplay, allowing players to control a bipedal Arwing and the Landmaster tank. Star Fox Guard, on the other hand, was a tower defense game where players defended bases owned by Slippy Toad’s uncle Grippy by monitoring security cameras. Both Wii U titles received mixed reviews.

Nintendo has been contacted for comments regarding the new Star Fox game, and updates will follow once a response is received.

The unreleased SNES game is set to make its worldwide debut later this year.
