First Look at Skeletor in the New Masters of the Universe Trailer

A fresh trailer for the live-action *Masters of the Universe* dropped on Tuesday, showcasing everything a fan could hope for: He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Evil-Lyn, Battle Cat (who makes a cameo as the MGM lion!), Trap Jaw, and even Jared Leto’s Skeletor, who brings a distinctly sinister British vibe. With that muscular blue bodysuit, CGI skull face, and accent, it raises the question of just how much of Leto we’ll actually see in the film.

Setting aside the intriguing casting choices, the first full trailer for *Masters of the Universe* delivers a mix of spectacle and humor, striking a balance reminiscent of Marvel Studios’ *Thor* and *Thor: Ragnarok*. Despite the lighthearted moments, director Travis Knight, known for *Bumblebee*, appears to be taking the He-Man narrative seriously, faithfully adapting the toy line with personal stakes and grand, action-packed sequences.

One lingering question remains: Where’s Orko? (If you catch a glimpse of him in the trailer, let us know!)

The story follows 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crash-lands on Earth in a spaceship, becoming separated from his magical Power Sword—the only connection to his home on Eternia. Nearly two decades later, after locating the sword, Prince Adam is transported back across space to defend his home planet from Skeletor’s evil forces. To conquer such a formidable foe, he must first unravel the secrets of his past and transform into He-Man, the most powerful man in the Universe.

The new *Masters of the Universe* features Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Björnsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress.

Mattel’s *Masters of the Universe* brand first hit the scene in 1982 with a line of action figures, followed by the animated series *He-Man and the Masters of the Universe*. The original series ran for two seasons and 130 episodes, leading to multiple spinoffs, sequel series (including two animated series on Netflix), and animated films.

*Masters of the Universe* hits theaters on June 5.
