Get Ready for the Whispers of the Wind Update in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is set to launch its Whispers of the Wind update on April 8, introducing Pocahontas along with a variety of new friendship quests. If you’re eager to tackle these quests efficiently and welcome Pocahontas to your valley, a bit of preparation can go a long way. While the exact quests remain a mystery, there are some steps you can take based on the update details we’ve received.

This time, unlike most updates, you won’t need to accumulate Dreamlight to unlock a new realm in the Dream Castle. Instead, your adventure begins on a new, mysterious island off the coast, which is where you’ll start your journey to unlock Pocahontas.

While there’s no strict requirement to prepare for the update, as all players will have access to Pocahontas’ friendship quests upon release, there are a few proactive measures you can take. Since this is her first appearance in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you won’t need to build friendships with other villagers beforehand.

Although the specific friendship quests with Pocahontas are still under wraps, we do know that we’ll be organizing a “celestial celebration,” as hinted in the update trailer. To get ready, consider gathering some glittering gemstones, particularly the rarer ones like tourmaline or diamonds, to ease the quest’s demands later on.

When I think of Pocahontas, raccoons come to mind. So, I plan to spend some time befriending the raccoons in the Forest of Valor. If you haven’t yet made friends with these masked critters, gather some blueberries and approach them carefully. They can be skittish, and you’ll need to feed them for at least three days to unlock them as companions. Notably, you’ll also unlock Meeko, Pocahontas’ raccoon sidekick, through her quests.

Gathering hardwood can be one of the more frustrating tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as it spawns in limited quantities across areas like the Sunlit Plateau, Forest of Valor, Frosted Heights, and Glade of Trust. Since it takes time to respawn after collection and is essential for crafting larger structures, it’s wise to stock up. We may need hardwood to craft a raft or other items to reach Pocahontas’ new island, so gathering it in advance is a smart move.
