The new Canto SMG is poised to become a top pick among players. It’s an affordable alternative to the Bobcat, excelling in close-quarters combat. However, acquiring the Canto blueprint in Arc Raiders can be quite the challenge, even more so than obtaining the legendary Dolabra blueprint introduced in the Flashpoint update.
If you’re wary of the Close Scrutiny map condition filled with Vaporizers, you’ll be relieved to know that you can still snag this blueprint without facing that challenge. But don’t expect it to be a walk in the park.
To find the Canto blueprint, loot First Wave Raider Caches during the Hurricane map condition. These caches, often called ‘hurricane caches’, resemble the standard Raider Caches you might be familiar with—they’re small tins buried in the ground that beep when you’re nearby. They typically spawn on the map’s outskirts, so using an interactive map to track their locations during matches is a smart move.
The strong winds can make it tough to hear the beeping, and during Hurricane matches, your shield will be continuously drained, leaving you vulnerable. It’s definitely a frustrating map condition…
As with all blueprints, the Canto isn’t guaranteed from every hurricane cache. In fact, due to the variety of blueprints available, it’s generally more challenging to find the Canto than the legendary Dolabra, which you can loot from Assessors. Being a rare-quality SMG, hopefully, you’ll get your hands on it sooner rather than later.
To craft the Canto, you will need:
Crafting the Canto isn’t overly expensive, provided you’re not dying frequently and needing a replacement every round. It’s worth the effort, as it’s essentially a slightly weaker version of the Bobcat. With a rapid time-to-kill (368 DPS according to in-game stats, just shy of the Bobcat’s 400 DPS), it does come with a small magazine and significant recoil. You can enhance the Canto’s ammo capacity by upgrading it and using magazine attachments, so be sure to do that if you can.
