Spider-Gwen and Supergirl Team Up in Sneak Peek of Upcoming Spider-Man/Superman Crossover

Marvel and DC have joined forces for the release of Superman/Spider-Man #1, a thrilling crossover that merges the universes and supporting characters of these iconic heroes. But the excitement doesn’t end there. Later this month, a second installment featuring even more team-up escapades will drop, and we have an exclusive sneak peek at a page from a backup story featuring Ghost-Spider (Gwen Stacy) and Supergirl.

Writer Stephanie Phillips, known for her work on All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider, teams up with artist Phil Noto to bring this dynamic duo to life. Their adventure promises to forge an “unbreakable bond” as they tackle high-stakes challenges, including a showdown with the DC villain Livewire, who first appeared in the ’90s animated series, Superman: The Animated Series.

This crossover follows Marvel and DC’s collaboration in 2025, which featured two one-shots showcasing unexpected encounters, like Batman and Deadpool. The backup stories from those issues were standout moments, including one where Rocket Raccoon from the Guardians of the Galaxy discovers the power of a Green Lantern ring.

Superman/Spider-Man #1 hit the shelves last month, featuring a main storyline where Spider-Man and Superman unite to take on Doc Ock and Brainiac. The backup stories offered surprising pairings, such as the Punisher and Power Girl, who explored the perils of blind dating in a tale by Gail Simone and Belén Ortega.

The upcoming Spider-Man/Superman #1 promises a collection of must-read backup stories from a stellar lineup of comic creators, including the Ghost-Spider and Supergirl adventure. Fans can look forward to a story by Miles Morales co-creators Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, featuring Miles alongside Superman, as well as Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman revisiting the War of the Realms with Mighty Thor (Jane Foster) and Wonder Woman battling a symbiote invasion in Metropolis.

Mark your calendars for the release of Spider-Man/Superman #1, hitting comic shops on Wednesday, April 22.
