Experience the Stunning 60FPS Native PC Port of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

A native PC version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, now known as Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn, is making significant strides toward completion. The dedicated team of volunteers behind the project recently showcased an impressive work-in-progress build running at a smooth 60fps.

As noted by an outlet, the decompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was largely finished by late 2025, and on December 30, the project lead shared the first glimpse of the native PC port.

Fast forward four months, and the latest build of Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn, featured on Linifadomra’s YouTube channel, appears nearly complete. It runs at a stable 60fps and includes full keyboard and mouse support, a notable upgrade from the original and Wii U HD remaster, both of which were capped at 30fps.

However, the project is still a work in progress. Linifadomra mentioned in the video that they are seeking additional developers to help finalize the port. Despite this, the build is reported to be “completely crashless,” and aside from a few quirky cutscene glitches, the gameplay footage shows no major bugs or issues.

While a release date remains uncertain, it’s worth noting that modders have already integrated Linkle, a female variant of Link from Hyrule Warriors Legends, into the Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn port.

Keep in mind that to play this native PC version, you’ll need an ethically sourced ROM of the original The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube. Similar to other fan projects, this one is generally seen as operating outside of Nintendo’s legal concerns for that reason. Upon release, Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn is expected to exclude any proprietary assets from Nintendo.

It remains to be seen whether Nintendo will challenge this project or if it will launch before the company brings Twilight Princess to the Switch 2’s GameCube library.
