Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Sees First-Ever $200 Price Drop

My colleague Allison Johnson was impressed with the Privacy Display feature in her review of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. This innovative display blocks prying eyes from seeing your screen when viewed from the side, making it a must-have for anyone who values privacy while on the go. Fortunately, the S26 Ultra is now more affordable, with the unlocked 256GB model priced at $1,099.99 on various platforms, reflecting a $200 discount from its original price. This puts it just $100 above the S26 Plus, which offers fewer features.

Beyond the Privacy Display, the S26 Ultra stands out as Samsung’s largest and most powerful smartphone to date. It boasts a stunning 6.9-inch 3120 x 1440 OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and its dual telephoto lenses provide multiple optical zoom options, ensuring you can capture the perfect shot without digital noise. Notably, this is the only model in the S26 lineup that comes with an S Pen stylus.

As a flagship Android device, the S26 Ultra is packed with features, though it does lack magnet-based recharging, which has become a trend with newer devices. Unlike Google’s Pixel 10 phones, Samsung has opted out of this feature, but the S26 Ultra still supports the latest wireless charging standard, reaching Qi2 speeds of up to 25W with the right charger—making it faster than other models in the series. If magnets are a dealbreaker, you can always opt for a magnet-compatible case without losing much functionality.

If the Privacy Display doesn’t catch your interest, the other S26 models have also seen price drops. The standard S26, originally priced at $899.99, is now available for $799.99 for the 256GB version. Meanwhile, the S26 Plus, which features a larger, higher-resolution display and a bigger battery (along with slightly faster wireless charging at 20W compared to the S26’s 15W), is now priced at $999.99, down from its original $1,099.99.
