ChatGPT Introduces New $100 Monthly Pro Subscription Plan

OpenAI has rolled out a new ChatGPT Pro subscription option priced at $100 per month. This upgraded Pro tier provides users with “5x more” access to its Codex coding tool compared to the $20 per month Plus subscription, making it ideal for extended, intensive Codex sessions.

This move aims to attract users from competitors like Anthropic, which has gained traction with its Claude Code tool. The $100 per month ChatGPT option will directly rival Anthropic’s “Max” tier, which is similarly priced. It also serves as a middle option between the $20 Plus tier and the $200 version of the existing Pro tier.

Interestingly, there are now two Pro tiers available; while the new tier maintains access to all Pro features, the pricier version boasts even higher usage limits. OpenAI emphasizes that ChatGPT Plus remains the best choice at $20 for regular, everyday Codex use, while the new $100 Pro tier provides a more accessible upgrade for those who require heavier daily usage. Additionally, OpenAI continues to offer an $8 per month Go tier and a free tier for users.
