Crimson Desert Developers Unveil Exciting New Roadmap to Meet Fan Expectations

It’s been about three weeks since Crimson Desert launched, and developer Pearl Abyss is actively addressing the issues that arose during its rocky debut. The team has now released a roadmap outlining upcoming changes for the game over the next few months, featuring both quality-of-life improvements and significant gameplay adjustments.

On Friday, Pearl Abyss published a blog post detailing the updates expected between April and June, and there’s a lot to look forward to.

One major change is that locations will now be able to be retaken by enemies, which should please players who have invested countless hours clearing the map only to find it felt empty without foes to challenge them. Additionally, bosses will now respawn for rematches instead of vanishing permanently.

Perhaps the most thrilling addition is the enhancement of Damiane and Oongka, the two non-Kliff playable characters. Many players may not even be aware of them due to the current limitations in accessing story content with these characters. Pearl Abyss is set to improve their abilities, aiming to make them as competitive as Kliff, who boasts an extensive skill tree filled with essential abilities for solving puzzles and overcoming challenges.

Other features expected this spring include difficulty settings, new outfits, specialized storage systems for items like cooking ingredients and clothing, new pets and mounts, UI accessibility options, and visual upgrades to distant backgrounds. Players will also have the option to hide weapons on their characters’ backs, which should enhance the overall aesthetic.

The blog post hints at more customizable controls as well. Crimson Desert has a reputation for its complex control scheme, so the ability to tailor these controls is a welcome development, even if a more intuitive setup from the start would have been ideal.

While Crimson Desert didn’t have the smoothest launch, it’s clear that Pearl Abyss is genuinely committed to improving the game and making it a worthwhile experience. Here’s hoping they also address that awkward AI art soon!
