Clint is one of the new marriage candidates coming in the next major update for Stardew Valley, but you don’t have to wait to befriend Pelican Town’s blacksmith. He’s available from day one, and his smithy is just a short walk from your farm.
Like other villagers, Clint has a few recipes to help you earn his friendship, so it’s good to know his favorite gifts and birthday for those extra friendship points. Here’s everything you need to know about Clint in Stardew Valley, including his daily routine, preferred gifts, and heart events.
Rain or shine, Clint sticks to his routine and doesn’t change his schedule much. You’ll usually find him behind the Smithy counter before he heads to the Saloon at night. The only significant exception to his routine is on Winter 16 when he has an appointment at the Clinic.

Clint isn’t a fan of flowers, but he has a soft spot for precious stones and refined bars of gold or iridium. Just be careful not to give him unrefined materials; he’s not interested in your raw ore or coal.

Clint has fewer heart events compared to other romanceable characters. There are only two events that require you to leave home, but this may change with the upcoming update. For now, it’s still beneficial to build your relationship with him, as he’ll send you a couple of recipes (one at three hearts and another at seven).

While Clint isn’t a marriage candidate just yet, he’ll be available for romance in the next update alongside another new character, Sandy.
We’ve only seen a teaser of what Clint and Sandy will look like on their special day if you decide to propose. This was part of a larger reveal during the 10th anniversary broadcast of Stardew Valley, which is worth checking out even if you’re not focused on the romance aspect.
