Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced — Release Date, New Features & Everything Revealed So Far

Captain Edward Kenway is making his return, and this time he’s sailing into a fully rebuilt world. Ubisoft has officially pulled the curtain back on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Here’s a full rundown of everything confirmed so far.

What Exactly Is Black Flag Resynced?

This isn’t a simple remaster with a fresh coat of paint. Black Flag Resynced has been built from scratch using the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine, bringing the sun-soaked Caribbean back to life with ray tracing, Dolby Atmos support, and a fully dynamic weather system that makes every voyage on the Jackdaw feel alive. The combat system has also been overhauled — new combos, finishers, and environmental interactions have been added, while the notorious eavesdropping missions now flow into combat instead of forcing a checkpoint restart. Tailing missions have been reworked too, meaning getting spotted no longer results in an instant desync. Ubisoft has also confirmed that the original 2013 release will remain available on digital storefronts alongside the remake.

New Content, Editions & Pre-Order Bonuses

Beyond the technical upgrades, Resynced brings entirely new story content featuring the return of original voice actor Matt Ryan as Edward Kenway. Fan-favourite characters Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet receive fresh storylines, and three new officers join the crew with their own dedicated side quests. New sea shanties, a photo mode, pets, and ziplines for faster traversal round out the additions.

Pricing — Global & India, and Release Date

The game launches on July 9, 2026 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Here’s the full edition and pricing breakdown:
