Taming the legendary Phoenix in Crimson Desert is just one of the exciting new features introduced in the latest patch. While most birds can be captured using the Sotdae of Bond item, a specialized bird feeder, this fiery companion requires a more aggressive approach.
Like the legendary Silver Fang and White Bear mounts, you’ll need to take it down first before you can tame it. After defeating the Phoenix, you’ll craft a Sigil of Solidarity using a witch vendor. Here’s how to locate the Phoenix and take it down to unlock it as a pet.
Before you set out to find the Phoenix, gather a few essentials:
You can purchase explosive arrows from the Back Alley Trader in Tommaso, which is conveniently located on your way to the Phoenix. The Charged Shot skill will also help you land hits more easily, as defeating it is the key to unlocking it as a pet.
The Phoenix can be found in the northern part of the Crimson Desert region, just south of Trader’s Expanse, in an area with ravines where it flies around. It’s hard to miss, as it’s a massive golden bird among a flock of smaller golden birds. I recommend heading to the large stone pillar in the center of the crater and waiting for the Phoenix to fly by. When it does, use your explosive arrow with Charged Shot to bring it down.
Once it falls, skin its corpse to obtain the Phoenix Feather, then head to the Witch’s Lair vendor. Choose the “Craft Abyss Gear” option, navigate to “Special Items,” and craft the Sigil of Solidarity (Phoenix). Use this item from your inventory in the Key Item: Treasure section to unlock the Phoenix as a pet.
