The Sotdae of Bond might have one of the more unusual names in Crimson Desert, but it serves a practical purpose as a bird feeder, allowing you to tame the new bird pets introduced in the latest update. You can befriend a range of birds, from the common Sparrow to the legendary Phoenix, but first, you need to unlock this item.

The update also brings new feline companions like the Abyss Heuklang and the Baltheon Armorset. Here’s how to obtain the Sotdae of Bond and start taming your feathered friends.

To get the Sotdae of Bond, you must complete the Authorized Access section of the Trembling Woods faction quest for the Pororin Forest Guardians. This quest opens up access to the Florindale area, which you can initiate by attempting to enter the village southeast of the Hernand Highlands and getting hit with sleep darts three times.

Afterward, a guardian named Arkin will appear, allowing you to start the quest. It’s a relatively quick task. If you’ve already finished it, you can find the Sotdae of Bond in your item storage at camp, so just grab it from there.

Once you have the Sotdae of Bond, you’ll need some food to use with it since it functions as a bird feeder. Different types of food will attract various birds, and you can use:

The feeder has a large capacity and retains its food between uses, so it’s a good idea to fill it with all types of feed to attract a diverse range of birds based on your location.

Different regions host different bird species. For instance, placing the feeder on a mountain attracted an eagle and a sparrowhawk, while moving it to a river brought in a crow and a sparrow.

Once a bird lands on the feeder, it will feed until it reaches 100 Trust, similar to other pets. At that point, you can approach and select the “Take In” option to make it your own. While bird pets don’t have equipment, they will loot corpses like dogs and cats and will perch on your arm if you stand still for a while.
