Once you arrive in Beighen at the start of Chapter 7, the Bared Fang quest kicks off with the need to eavesdrop on various conversations while trying to persuade a Blue Fang guard to let you into their secret hideout to meet their leader. Here’s how to eavesdrop and the steps to complete the quest:

Your first quest marker leads you to a couple of villagers chatting in a hut at the lumberyard by the river. To eavesdrop, sneak around to the back of the hut so that the wooden wall is between you and the villagers. Approach the wall until the “Eavesdrop” prompt appears in the bottom right corner of the screen (CTRL on keyboard or LB on controller).

Press the button, and your character will lean against the wall to listen in. A “learning” progress bar will appear in the top left as you gather information.

After the conversation, your objective will update to “Find a way to make contact with the secret organization,” along with a map marker for a guard to talk to. The responses you need to select for him are as follows:
