Guide to Completing the Shoring Up Defenses Mission in Arc Raiders

Shoring Up Defenses is one of the three initial quests in the Riven Tides update of Arc Raiders. This mission focuses on bolstering key spots across the beach-themed map while clearing out the invading robots. By accepting the quest, you’ll receive a Dockmaster’s Detector from Apollo, which is handy for uncovering buried treasure in the Beachcombing map condition.

To help you complete this quest efficiently, here’s a breakdown of what you need to do. Keep in mind that you’ll require one Arc Alloy for this mission, but you should be able to snag one during your run, especially since you’ll be taking down Wasps and Fireflies.

The Shoring Up Defenses quest consists of four objectives that can be tackled in any order and across multiple matches:

The last two objectives are the trickiest, so I’ll dive into those details shortly.

As for the enemies, Wasps are the small, white flying robots, while Fireflies are the larger, more armored grey ones that shoot fire. They can be found throughout the map, so take them down (aim for the fans) and make sure to loot at least one Arc Alloy.

Start your journey at the Stacking Yard in the northeast of Riven Tide. You’ll need to reach the top of one of the three cranes in the area, which you can do by riding a zipline or taking the stairs—I opted for the middle crane.

Once at the top, you’ll find a flimsy sheet of metal supported by poles. Interact with the posts to reinforce them using one Arc Alloy. Remember, you can either bring an Arc Alloy with you or loot one from enemies during the match.

Next, head over to the Hotel Panorama Azzurro located in the west of the map and make your way to the second floor. Here, you’ll find several hotel rooms, some with their window shutters down. I boarded up the window in room 213—look for the numbers above the doors. Interact with the shutter to secure it with wood, completing this step of the quest.

I noticed several rooms with similar shutters (like room 207), but when I encountered another player working on this step, they could only interact with the shutter in room 213. If you run into any issues, just head to room 213.

After completing all the objectives, return to Apollo to claim your rewards: three Barricade Kits, three Lure Grenade Traps, and six Seeker Grenades.
