Finding a Comet Igniter for Tian Wen in the Collision Course quest of Arc Raiders is straightforward if you know the right approach. If you’re unfamiliar with this Arc enemy, it can be a bit of a hassle.

These explosive orbs always seem to catch me off guard, forcing me to scramble for cover to avoid their massive shockwave. Here’s how to obtain this item and take down a Comet for Tian Wen.

Comets can be found on nearly every map, but they are particularly abundant on the new Riven Tides map, patrolling the beach. These Arc enemies resemble larger versions of Fireballs or Pops, looking more like a Surveyor—essentially, a big metal sphere with a blue light on the front that turns yellow when they detect you.

When they decide to attack, they’ll roll toward you before detonating. To snag a Comet Igniter, you need to eliminate a Comet before it explodes. Doing so will create a separate loot container that resembles a core rather than the usual ring. Loot this container, and you’ll find a Comet Igniter inside.

The quickest and most cost-effective method I’ve discovered for taking down a Comet before it detonates is by using Seeker Grenades and Snap Blasts. A few grenades will do the trick, and you can purchase them daily from Apollo. I particularly favor the Seekers since they home in on enemies. As long as the Comet hasn’t spotted you, you’ll have ample time to keep tossing grenades until it’s defeated. After that, just loot the container, stash the Igniter safely, and return it to Tian Wen to complete the quest.
