Unlocking Buried Treasure: A Guide to Using the Dockmaster’s Detector in Arc Raiders

The latest update, Riven Tide, introduces a vibrant beach resort map to Arc Raiders, inviting players to relax and explore the sandy shores. The new Beachcombing map condition allows you to hunt for hidden treasures along the coastline, but first, you’ll need to grab the Dockmaster’s Detector.

Beachcombing stands out from other map conditions in the game because it requires you to bring a specific item into the match to fully enjoy the experience. The Dockmaster’s Detector acts as your metal detector, and you’ll need to equip it like any other gadget.

To start your treasure hunt, you must first obtain a Dockmaster’s Detector. This handy gadget can be found in various ways:

You might even stumble upon a blueprint to craft your own Dockmaster’s Detectors, which would be a great find since the primary way to acquire them is through looting.

Once you have the Dockmaster’s Detector, make sure to equip it in your quick slot, just like you would with grenades or healing items, before jumping into a Beachcombing match on Riven Tide.

If you haven’t unlocked the Dockmaster’s Detector yet, it’s still worth visiting the beach. Why? There’s a chance you might encounter another player who has one. While I’m not advocating for PvP, you could take them out and snag their metal detector, or perhaps persuade them to share.

Beachcombing is a unique map condition exclusive to the Riven Tide map, activating periodically as a standard matchmaking option for this area, similar to Bird City on Buried City—it’s not a standalone option like Night Raids. Beachcombing features the following unique effects:

The key detail to remember is that buried treasure only appears in the dried-up Seabed area located in the north of Riven Tide. Head over there and equip your Dockmaster’s Detector to start your search.

As shown in the video, here’s how beachcombing works:

Digging at the marked locations can yield a variety of surprises, including a bomb you’ll need to disarm quickly, Ticks that will latch onto you, and, occasionally, real treasure. I’ve uncovered several suitcases filled with crafting materials, an Il Toro shotgun, and even the new toy boat trinkets required for the Avian Alarm project and Last Resort event.
