Catch the New Spider-Man Show Two Days Early—With a Twist!
Fans of the darkest iteration of Spider-Man are in for a treat this May with the arrival of Spider-Noir, set to hit Prime Video on May 27. However, those eager to catch the new series right at launch to dodge spoilers might face a dilemma: Spider-Noir will actually debut two days earlier.
According to an announcement from Prime Video, Spider-Noir will “premiere on May 25 on MGM+’s linear channel and globally on Prime Video on May 27.”
Initially, it was confirmed that the first two episodes of this Spidey spin-off would drop early on May 25. Now, it appears that the entire series will be accessible to anyone subscribed to MGM Plus, which is not only a cable channel in the U.S. but also an add-on for Prime Video. The catch? Viewers will need to shell out an additional $7.99 on top of their Prime Video subscription to access it. A bit cheeky, right?
Spider-Noir follows private investigator Ben Reilly (voiced by Nicolas Cage) as he comes out of retirement to face off against villains like Sandman and Tombstone. Set in the 1930s, this new series promises a fresh take on both New York and the characters we encounter. Adding to the intrigue, Spider-Noir will offer viewers a choice in how they experience the show: in authentic black-and-white to capture that classic noir feel, or in a true-hue colorized version reminiscent of a noir classic.
The news of Spider-Noir’s early release is a tough break for fans who aren’t keen on spending more than they already do. It means that those wanting to steer clear of spoilers will need to avoid social media starting May 25. A blessing in disguise, perhaps?
Spider-Noir will be available for streaming on MGM+ starting May 25, before its global release on Prime Video on May 27.
