Google Translate Introduces Pronunciation Assistance Feature

Google has introduced an exciting new AI-driven feature in Translate that enhances your language learning experience by helping you refine your pronunciation. The “pronunciation practice” tool listens to your speech and gives you immediate feedback, allowing you to improve before engaging in real conversations in your target language.

This feature shares similarities with the pronunciation tools found in popular language learning apps. Currently, the pronunciation practice is available for Android users in the US and India, supporting English, Spanish, and Hindi. However, there’s no word yet on when it might roll out to other regions or iOS users.

This launch coincides with the 20th anniversary of Google’s translation service, and the company has noted that pronunciation practice is among the most requested features. Alongside this announcement, Google revealed that its Translate service boasts over one billion monthly users, translating around one trillion words each month across its various services.
