Bizarre Fantasy Racing Game Features a Wild Concept and a Quirky Title
Strange Scaffold, the creative minds behind titles like I Am Your Beast, El Paso, Elsewhere, An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, and Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator, has unveiled their latest project with a title that might just take the cake: Truck–kun Is Supporting Me From Another World?! Yes, that punctuation is intentional.
Truck-kun is a unique blend of vehicular action and visual novel, diving into the isekai genre in a hilariously over-the-top way. You play as Carissa, a young marketing agent who meets an unfortunate fate when a truck hits her on her way to a new job, sending her into a fantastical realm filled with monsters, swords, and magic. Initially, she’s too weak to unlock the Galactic Gate or take on the Skeleton King, among other epic challenges she must face to return home. That’s where you come in: you’re behind the wheel of the isekai truck, tasked with smashing into as many objects as possible to power her up.
Crashing into things boosts Carissa’s abilities, while running over pedestrians transforms them into monsters that will then battle her, helping her level up and gain the strength needed to escape. You can keep an eye on Carissa’s actions in a small box at the bottom of your screen, creating a dynamic where you’re actively playing one game while passively engaging in another. It’s a fun contrast!
Of course, wreaking havoc with a truck isn’t without its consequences, as you’ll need to dodge the police who are intent on stopping your rampage. They really know how to ruin the fun.
For those familiar with anime tropes, you might recognize “truck-kun” as a meme that plays on the common isekai theme of characters getting hit by trucks and whisked away to new worlds. The joke is that truck-kun is a recurring character in various anime and manga, whose sole purpose is to send people on fantastical adventures. In this game, truck-kun is just doing his job, but you can’t help but feel for the driver caught in the chaos.
The game promises a soundtrack by David Mason, known for his work on the eerie fishing game Dredge. One of the standout features mentioned is “a giant, screaming man whose meat you can legally drive through.” Not quite sure what that entails, but it certainly piques curiosity.
Truck–kun Is Supporting Me From Another World?! is set to launch later this year on PC via Steam.
Update 4/30/2026 4:48pm ET: Following the initial announcement, it has been confirmed that Truck–kun Is Supporting Me From Another World?! will also be available on Xbox Series X and S.
