Major Crimson Desert Update Adds New Layers of Depth to Gameplay
Pearl Abyss has launched patch 1.05 for the action-adventure title Crimson Desert, introducing a variety of new features, including an easier way to rematch enemies. The developers have indicated that they plan to keep adding features as they work to “craft a deeper world.”
Since its release in March, Crimson Desert has seen nearly weekly updates. The game initially faced numerous issues, particularly with fast travel and stamina mechanics. Early patches focused on fixing these problems, but now Pearl Abyss is shifting towards a more forward-looking strategy to enhance the game’s world, making Pywel feel more dynamic.
In this latest update, the “rematch” and “re-blockade” features are highlighted. The rematch option allows players to challenge any boss again at their convenience, with the ability to adjust the boss’s difficulty to align with their character’s stats. Players can also activate the re-blockade feature in the settings, which increases how often enemies reclaim forts and quarries throughout the expansive game world.
“We are continuing to refine these features, and this update serves as the first step by implementing their core, foundational systems,” Pearl Abyss notes in the patch introduction. “Building upon this base in future patches, we plan to progressively refine the content and craft a deeper world, so we hope you’re looking forward to what we have in store.”
Patch 1.05 is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Here’s a look at the full list of patch notes for 1.05:
