Mass Effect Alumni Lead the Charge on Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
In December, it was revealed that Casey Hudson, the director behind iconic titles like Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, is developing a new Star Wars game at Arcanaut Studios titled Fate of the Old Republic. While the name may evoke memories of BioWare’s classic RPG, this project won’t be a direct sequel. Recently, the studio shared details about some of the creative minds behind the game, and it looks like a major reunion of BioWare talent.
The updated Arcanaut Studios website features profiles of key team members, many of whom hail from the RPG powerhouse known for Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and the original KOTOR. Hudson is leading the charge as CEO and game director, with others on the team bringing experience from titles like Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights.
This lineup includes several veterans from what many fans consider BioWare’s “golden era.” As of now, details about Fate of the Old Republic remain scarce, but Arcanaut has indicated that the game is set to launch before 2030. By then, it could potentially be a title for the PlayStation 6 and Project Helix.
