Xbox unveils a budget-friendly Game Pass option.

Xbox and Discord have joined forces to bring an exciting new benefit to gamers. Starting Monday, Discord Nitro subscribers will gain access to a streamlined version of Xbox Game Pass.

For $10 a month or $100 annually, Discord Nitro offers a premium experience with features like custom server profiles, larger file uploads, and unique emojis. Now, it also includes a “starter edition” of Xbox Game Pass, featuring over 50 Xbox and PC games available for download and play. Subscribers will also enjoy 10 hours of cloud gaming streaming each month, with titles like DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Fallout 4, Grounded, Overcooked 2, and Stardew Valley included in the lineup.

The price for Discord Nitro remains unchanged despite this new Game Pass addition, as confirmed in a blog post announcing the partnership.

Discord has become a go-to messaging platform for gamers, integrating seamlessly with both PlayStation and Xbox ecosystems. Additionally, Roll20 can now be launched directly through Discord for those engaging in virtual tabletop gaming.

Earlier this year, Discord faced backlash over a proposed age-verification plan, prompting users to explore alternative chat services. In response, the company decided to postpone these changes until later in 2026, though a specific date has yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Xbox and Game Pass have experienced significant shifts in 2026, with Game Pass seeing a price reduction but not including future Call of Duty titles at launch. This adjustment highlighted the limits of subscriber expectations, a point acknowledged by new CEO Asha Sharma, who noted on social media that “Game Pass Ultimate has become too expensive for too many players.”

The service’s middle “premium” tier may need reevaluation.
