Locating the Key Code for Carter’s PC in Directive 8020
Directive 8020 is packed with locked doors and computers that require passwords, making it tricky to navigate without getting caught. When you’re racing against time, trying to guess countless potential codes is not an option, especially with alien threats lurking around. Instead, it’s smarter to hunt for clues.
In Episode 2, you’ll need to crack the code for Carter’s PC, and luckily, it’s one of the easier ones to find. You only need four digits instead of a full passcode, and once you know where to look, you’ll be accessing his files in no time. Here’s how to do it.
The key code to unlock Carter’s PC is 2808, but you can also use 0828.
The hint is a post-it note on his monitor that says “Luna’s” with an arrow pointing to the screen. After leaving Carter’s room and heading into Crew Quarters, turn right to find a calendar on the wall. Approach it and click the left mouse button to check it out; it will display the month of August.
On the 28th, you’ll see “Luna’s Birthday” highlighted in bold. Use this date along with the month to unlock the computer. It doesn’t matter which you enter first, as either combination will work. Once you interact with the computer again, a cutscene will trigger, showing Simms entering Crew Quarters, followed by a new objective to follow her.
After this cutscene, you won’t be able to access Carter’s PC again; its purpose is solely to set up the next scene with Simms and raise Eisele’s suspicions. Follow Simms through Crew Quarters and into the Lounge, where you’ll find her in front of a monitor displaying a log of her conversation with Carter, allowing you to continue the story from there.
