Lego Unveils Huge Minas Tirith Set from Lord of the Rings, One of Its Largest Builds Yet

Lego has unveiled its latest creation from the iconic Lord of the Rings series: a colossal Minas Tirith set that truly embodies the grandeur of the franchise.

This massive build, revealed recently, showcases Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, as depicted in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. With an impressive count of 8,278 pieces, this set ranks among the largest Lego has ever produced, surpassing even the iconic Millennium Falcon, though it falls just short of the Death Star in size. Included in this set are 10 minifigures, featuring fan favorites like Aragorn, Arwen, Gandalf the White, Denethor, Pippin Took, and Faramir, along with four Gondor soldiers.

Lego describes the Minas Tirith set as a “hybrid microscale and minifigure-scale design,” allowing builders to explore significant locations such as the citadel and throne room.

The price tag for the Lego Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set (11377) is equally impressive, set at $649.99 (£579.99 in the U.K./€649.99 in Europe). It will be available for Lego Insiders starting June 1, with general sales beginning on June 4.

For those passionate about Lego LOTR, purchasing the Minas Tirith set between June 1-7 will earn you a bonus: the Lego Icons The Lord of the Rings: Grond (40893) battering ram.

It’s worth noting that this set does not support Smart Play, unlike the recently announced Star Wars sets, which have been the focus of Smart Play features. However, you can still get creative by using Smart Bricks and Smart tags to stage a lightsaber duel between Gandalf and Denethor if you wish.

Here are the official specs for both newly announced Lego Lord of the Rings sets:
