Gamer Receives 7,973-Year Ban for Leaking Xbox Game, Claims Devs Can’t Stop Him
On Monday, the team at Playground Games took decisive action by banning several players who were accused of leaking footage of Forza Horizon 6 just a week ahead of its official release. While the ban itself wasn’t unexpected, its length certainly raised eyebrows—players received a staggering 7,973-year ban across all Forza titles. However, on the same day, the most notable leaker, known as DVS Squad, uploaded more footage of himself cruising in the game, despite being banned.
In a seven-minute video, DVS Squad elaborated on the situation, claiming that no cheating tools were involved in the leak. The bulk of the video, however, focused on his nonchalant attitude towards the ban.
“I knew the risk, I simply didn’t care,” he stated. DVS Squad, an experienced Forza modder, expressed confidence in his ability to bypass the ban. He mentioned that even if the developers attempted a hardware ban, he would know how to get around it. He noted that previous bans hadn’t deterred him from enjoying the game, and this time was no different—he just didn’t bother to obscure his gamertag.
“I’m kind of glad because it just gives my channel more attention,” he added.
Although the lengthy ban cost him the account associated with the leaked footage, DVS Squad remarked that it only meant losing his progression, which he could easily regain on a new account. “I’m free to play online as much as I want, and there’s nothing they can do to really stop it,” he said.
Interestingly, the video wasn’t solely focused on taking jabs at Playground Games. DVS Squad also defended the upcoming racing title against critics who felt the graphics in his footage were lacking. He clarified that he wasn’t playing Forza Horizon 6 on the highest settings.
“It may look choppy, but trust me, when the game comes out or if you played the game, you already know the game is absolutely stunning,” he asserted.
Towards the end of the video, DVS Squad’s tone shifted to that of a reviewer. He expressed satisfaction with the game’s current state, even if Playground Games didn’t introduce many new concepts.
“I would recommend the game 100% if you’re a fan of the franchise, and you like racing games and playing Forza, this is probably in the top three,” he said, also hinting at plans to upload more in-game trolling videos.
