Forza Horizon 6 Early Access Leads to Modder’s 7,973-Year Ban
If players are facing bans lasting thousands of years for getting an early peek at Forza Horizon 6, just imagine the consequences for anyone who manages to snag Grand Theft Auto 6 before its official release. Meanwhile, why is Nintendo rolling out a new amiibo for a three-year-old game on the Switch? And will anyone step in to rescue Gang of Dragon? It’s a special evening edition of the daily gaming roundup, where I’m hoping the Angry Video Game Nerd doesn’t decide to run for President.
DVS Squad is one of the individuals who got their hands on an early build of Forza Horizon 6 and is now facing the repercussions. After sharing gameplay footage of the timed Xbox exclusive ahead of its launch, he received a staggering ban of 7,973 years. DVS Squad responded by releasing a seven-minute video expressing his indifference to the situation. “I knew the risk, I simply didn’t care,” he stated, adding that he thought he could easily bypass the account ban.
Developer Playground Games announced strict measures against anyone accessing the early build, including franchise-wide and hardware bans. “We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19,” they stated. While a hardware ban might be tougher to get around, DVS Squad seems unfazed. “It may look choppy, but trust me, when the game comes out or if you played the game, you already know the game is absolutely stunning,” he remarked.
In a recent press release, Dr. Scott Arthur, an MP for Edinburgh South West, expressed concerns about Rockstar’s treatment of its staff. “My discussions with senior management emphasized their responsibility to treat staff in an open, fair, and transparent manner,” he said. This comes amid worries about the termination of over 30 developers last year and a perceived lack of transparency. Rockstar claims these employees were let go for gross misconduct related to leaking confidential information about GTA 6’s development in a Discord channel. While they won an initial ruling, the legal battle continues.
Toshihiro Nagoshi, a former Sega and RGG Studios veteran, has left to establish a new studio with funding from NetEase to create a spiritual successor to Yakuza, titled Gang of Dragon. The game was revealed at last year’s Game Awards, but now the website for Nagoshi Studio has vanished, raising concerns among fans.
This news follows reports of the studio facing difficulties after NetEase cut funding necessary to complete the game, along with recent panic over disappearing YouTube pages. The outlook isn’t great, but perhaps Microsoft or another entity can step in to salvage the project.
Starting May 12, the indie horror hit will introduce skins inspired by Alan Wake and Saga Anderson, along with four revamped maps reflecting Remedy Entertainment’s survival horror style. Players will be on the hunt for the writer’s lost pages while battling cultists and other dangers.
The Mineru’s Construct amiibo is set to launch on September 17! This amiibo features articulated arms for posing and, when tapped in-game in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will unlock a unique design for Link’s paraglider.
The latest preview of Season 8: Sins of Alchemax showcases Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, with the latter joining in the Vanguard role. His ultimate ability will have him rampaging through levels.
The PC gaming company is revamping its UGC stores to make them more visually appealing and user-friendly. “Counter-Strike players will immediately notice the new images generated specifically for that listing, rather than generic images, to showcase each item’s unique features,” the company stated. “No more having to fire up the game to make your purchasing decision. We generated over 27,000,000 unique images to backfill existing Counter-Strike listings as part of our internal testing.”
In a recent exchange, MrBeast posed a provocative question to TheBurntPeanut, asking, “If someone offered you a million dollars, would you peel the skin off your face?” The extraction shooter streamer replied, “Brother, you just want to torture me, live on stream? No! I’m not going to mutilate myself for dollars! Geez Louise, MrBeast, me and my peanut people have been persecuted for far too long with the likes of you.”
