Overwatch Characters Are Joining Fortnite!

The heroes from Overwatch are set to invade Fortnite this week. Epic Games and Blizzard Entertainment have confirmed the much-anticipated arrival of D.Va, Genji, Mercy, and Tracer on Fortnite’s island, and it seems D.Va has brought along a massive sword.

Epic Games unveiled the Overwatch x Fortnite crossover with a new Act 3 cinematic trailer, showcasing the four Overwatch heroes as they come to the rescue of Jonesy and Fishstick, who are under siege from the Ice King. Each hero delivers their iconic catchphrases—except for Genji, who notably skips saying “I need healing”—and they’ve been given a fresh look to fit Fortnite’s unique art style.

While the full details of the Overwatch x Fortnite crossover remain under wraps, D.Va, Genji, Mercy, and Tracer are set to land on Thursday, May 14. The trailer hints at the inclusion of the King’s Row clocktower in Fortnite’s map, with more information expected on launch day.

Unconfirmed leaks suggest that the crossover will feature four hero skins, four back blings, four pickaxes, three emotes, a glider, and a wrap. Players can also look forward to Overwatch-themed landmarks, quests, and NPCs. Rumor has it that even the Porsche Cayenne Overwatch SUV will make an appearance.

This crossover comes just days after Blizzard kicked off Overwatch’s 10th anniversary event, making the heroes’ appearance in Fortnite part of a broader celebration for the game.

Both Fortnite and Overwatch are free to play on consoles and PC, and Blizzard is offering a variety of skins and other rewards.
