GTA 6 Pre-Orders Could Launch Monday After Best Buy Mistake

It looks like the buzz from last week about some major Grand Theft Auto 6 news dropping soon might actually hold water. In the last 24 hours, multiple gamers and content creators have shared images of a “Special Offer” for a physical pre-order of the game, set to kick off on “May 18.” Interestingly, this time, Sony isn’t involved; the marketing offer reportedly comes straight from Best Buy.

While it’s easy to fake these kinds of things, the users sharing the emails from Best Buy have taken extra steps to verify their authenticity. For example, one user, FrogboyX1Gaming, even livestreamed himself opening the email on his phone to silence any skeptics.

I use a computer to look at emails because I’m old.

Additionally, there’s a thread on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit compiling all the posts from users who have shared proof of receiving the email. One standout post comes from Cheap Ass Gamer on X, who went through various lengths in the comments to demonstrate that they weren’t fabricating the story.

The email doesn’t reveal much, but it’s definitely more than what GTA 6 fans have seen in the past year. The alleged message from Best Buy specifically mentions a “Physical” pre-order for Grand Theft Auto 6, and if you snag the game between May 18 and May 21, you’ll score a small discount.

If this is all accurate, it likely means that this pre-order announcement was intended to coincide with a new trailer for the game, which is how Rockstar Games typically rolls out pre-orders. This could mean we’re in for a trailer on Monday, or perhaps even sooner, but I’d bet we’ll see something in the next few days.
