A Guide to Finding Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2
If you’re on the hunt for Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2, you’ve probably made your way to the Alien Ruins after navigating the eerie waters between the Tadpole Pens and the Research Base. And if you heard a mysterious groan from the depths but didn’t run into any trouble, consider yourself fortunate.
Once you activate the Biobed respawn point in the Alien Ruins and check out the Fabricator, you’ll notice a new crafting option for Enameled Glass, which, of course, requires Creature Enamel. Below, I’ll guide you on where to find this material in the new biome you’ve just entered.
Creature Enamel can be found attached to black mineral deposits in the area surrounding the Alien Ruins. It’s easy to spot, resembling clusters of white sticks that look like bones, sticking out from black rock formations. There’s a significant amount of it located on a rock pillar about 200 meters southeast of the Alien Ruins research base, as shown in the video above.
Be cautious, as this area is patrolled by Needlers that will launch spikes at you if they catch sight of you, so stealth is key. Similar to mining gold, titanium, lead, and quartz, you’ll need the standard Sonic Resonator to break these deposits apart. It might take a couple of tries due to their odd shapes and your positioning, but persistence will pay off.
Each deposit yields several pieces of Creature Enamel, so you won’t need to mine extensively to start crafting Enameled Glass.
