Guide to Acquiring Celestine in Subnautica 2

If you’re on the hunt for Celestine in Subnautica 2, it means you’re gearing up to craft the Tadpole Depth module—no more worrying about hull breaches every time you dive deep. Celestine can only be found in the biome surrounding the Alien Ruins, so you’ll need to complete the Tadpole Pens and navigate the eerie waters to reach this new area.

Once you’ve gathered your Celestine, you can process it at the Processor to obtain the Strontium required for your depth module. While you’re at it, you might want to look into how to acquire Creature Enamel. Here’s where to locate Celestine.

Celestine is located in the biome near the Alien Ruins research base, specifically at deeper depths. A prime spot is about 200 meters southeast of the Alien Ruins, just over the cliff and down to the rocky area below. Keep an eye out for the two Needlers patrolling the vicinity.

If you haven’t yet acquired the Tadpole Depth module (which is likely why you’re searching for Celestine), you’ll need to exit your Tadpole at 250 meters down and swim a short distance to break the Celestine nodes using your Sonic Resonator. Each node resembles a cluster of small, light blue, jagged crystals, somewhat akin to large salt formations.

If you’re uncertain, check out a video for the precise location. Since Celestine is found at considerable depths, this spot is your best bet while still being relatively close to your Tadpole for oxygen and protection from Needler attacks. After collecting the Celestine, head back to your base—assuming you’ve set one up nearby—and process it into Strontium.
