Analogue 3D Introduces Save States Feature
Analogue has rolled out a fresh firmware update for the Analogue 3D console, introducing the Memories save state feature. This functionality, which debuted with the Analogue Pocket handheld, lets players save their game at any point and pick up right where they left off, eliminating the need to reach specific save points. This addition is particularly useful given that the Virtual Controller Pak option is still unavailable for original or wired N64 controllers, making saving progress a bit tricky.
While the feature was initially teased alongside the announcement of the 4K Nintendo 64 in October 2024, it was later clarified that features like Memories and screenshot capabilities would come in subsequent updates. Although screenshot functionality is still pending, the Memories feature is now accessible with the 1.3.0 firmware update, which can be downloaded and installed following the provided guide.
This year’s updates for the Analogue 3D also include enhanced support for multi-title flash carts, allowing the console to recognize when players switch games and create separate Virtual Controller Pak saves for each. Additionally, improved HDR capabilities have been implemented, better replicating the classic CRT TV look on modern OLED screens.
