Intel’s High-Performance Desktop CPU Now $50 Cheaper

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus was introduced in late March as one of the fastest gaming desktop processors available. That claim holds up, as benchmarks from Gamers Nexus reveal that this CPU competes strongly against AMD’s more expensive X3D cache-equipped Ryzen 9000-series processors. The Ultra 7 270K Plus also surpasses the Core i9 14900K in various tasks, which has been a go-to choice for gamers for quite some time.

If you’re eyeing an upgrade or planning a new build, the 270K Plus is surprisingly affordable. It’s currently available for just $279.99, which is about $45 off its usual price.

To use the 270K Plus, you’ll need a motherboard with an LGA 1851 socket. There are plenty of options that support DDR5 RAM, multiple M.2 SSDs, and even Wi-Fi 7. It’s encouraging to see some PC component prices drop, although the savings are less noticeable with RAM still being on the pricey side. For those looking for a variety of parts, Micro Center offers component bundles that include discounted RAM for some of the best deals around.

A bonus for purchasing this CPU is that if you register your purchase with Intel by July 31st, you’ll receive a full download of the Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game.
