A Guide to Finding Atacamite in Subnautica 2
Finding Atacamite in Subnautica 2 might not seem crucial at first glance, but it plays a vital role in crafting the Mangalloy Ingot. This refined material is essential for building valuable Metal Farms once you unlock the blueprint, and you’ll need ten Mangalloy Ingots to repair the Alien Power Plant, making it worthwhile to collect when you can.
Atacamite is typically found at depths below 250 meters, particularly around the Alien Ruins, so you’ll need the Tadpole Depth Module from the Needler nest to gather it effectively. Fortunately, you won’t need Atacamite urgently for upgrades until you start venturing into the deeper regions of the map.
A great spot to find Atacamite is approximately 200 meters east-north-east, at about 75 degrees on the compass from the Alien Ruins Research Base. If you can’t access the video for guidance, Atacamite is easily identifiable by its dark green columns protruding from the rock. Use your Sonic Resonator to break it apart and collect the material.
Remember, you’ll need at least ten Atacamite later on to repair the Alien Power Plant, so it’s a good idea to stock up while you can.
