Amazon Alexa Plus Introduces AI-Powered Podcast Creation Feature

Alexa Plus, Amazon’s enhanced AI assistant, has just leveled up its game by introducing the ability to create podcasts on nearly any subject. With this new feature, you can provide Alexa Plus with a topic, and it will outline what its AI hosts plan to discuss, giving you the chance to guide the conversation and tweak the episode’s length before it starts generating content.

Some examples of “Alexa Podcast” sessions include two AI-generated hosts diving into the history of the Roman Empire, exploring new music, and discussing World Cup predictions. You can also request Alexa Plus to produce audio lessons on the Apollo missions or craft a podcast episode about a new hobby, such as photography. This feature mirrors the AI-generated podcast capabilities found in other recent updates.

The AI-generated episodes will pull information from a network of 200 news sources that Amazon has partnered with, including major outlets. Alexa Plus was made available to all users in the US back in February and has since been integrated into Amazon’s online marketplace.

Once an episode wraps up, you’ll get a notification on your Echo Show device and the Alexa app. You can tap the notification to start listening, or find the episode in the Music and More section on your Echo Show or through the Alexa app.
