Axum Bacterial Culture is a tricky resource to track down and collect in Subnautica 2. It’s cleverly concealed and well-guarded, but if you want to build a Metal Farm, you’ll need to take the plunge. These nifty devices replicate valuable metals, saving you from constant back-and-forth trips.

To start harvesting Axum Bacterial Culture, first, you’ll need to snag the Depth Module for your trusty Tadpole from the cave near Ruby’s second blackbox signal. This upgrade allows your Tadpole to dive deeper, but even with it, you’ll be pushing the limits of your sub.

You can find several Axum Bacterial Cultures in the central glowing green pool within the Metal Farms cavern, located about 75 degrees northeast of the Alien Ruins Research Base, approximately 870 meters away. It’s around 450 meters deep, which is why the Depth Module is essential for your Tadpole, as that’s the maximum depth it can reach.

Be cautious, as this area is patrolled by a leviathan and other hostile creatures, making it a perilous spot. Bring a Repair Tool for your Tadpole and some healing items to stay safe.
