Now’s the Ideal Moment to Experience One of the Top Final Fantasy Games with Game Pass
Xbox has unveiled its Game Pass lineup for the latter half of May 2026, and there are some exciting titles on the way. The standout release this week is the highly anticipated Forza Horizon 6, but there are also several other noteworthy games to check out this month, including a classic: Final Fantasy VI.
Microsoft has been gradually adding titles from Square Enix’s Pixel Remaster series to its subscription service, and May 2026 marks the arrival of this beloved RPG, often hailed as one of the best in the genre, just in time for a nostalgic summer playthrough. Final Fantasy VI showcases the best of old-school turn-based combat and SNES-style pixel art, featuring a compelling narrative, memorable characters, and an iconic soundtrack.
If you haven’t experienced it yet or think 16-bit JRPGs aren’t your thing, give it a shot. You might be surprised by how quickly it draws you in. I’d love to relive the moment on the Lethe River, suplexing a giant talking octopus.
Here’s the complete list of Game Pass additions for May 2026:
There’s a solid selection of games here, though it’s important to note that some titles were previously available on Game Pass Ultimate and are now making their way to the Premium tier. Luna Abyss is one of the new day-and-date releases, offering a sci-fi bullet hell horror FPS experience. Crashout Crew is another new entry, a party game from the developers at Aggro Crab where players race to organize packages using forklifts.
Other highlights include the return of Remnant 2, a fantastic roguelite Souls-inspired loot shooter from 2023 that’s making its comeback to the service. However, the game I’m most eager to dive into is Kabuto Park. This cozy bug-collecting RPG, which launched on Steam last year to rave reviews, seems perfect for my energetic kids who will soon be home for the summer.
