Genshin Impact Fans May Finally See the Long-Awaited Switch Port After Six Years

It’s been almost six years since Genshin Impact made its debut, initially set to launch on PlayStation 4, PC, Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. The game hit the first four platforms in September 2020, later receiving a dedicated version for PS5 and making its way to Xbox Series consoles. However, the Nintendo Switch version has been notably absent, but recent findings from dataminers suggest that its release might finally be on the horizon.

This speculation stems from a leak by Lunar Kuroo, who shared insights on Telegram that were later discussed on Reddit. According to this leaker, the latest version 6.5.50 of Genshin Impact has introduced an internal Nintendo Switch account login manager. While players currently can’t link a Nintendo account to the game, this development hints that the feature could be coming soon.

While this isn’t a definitive sign of an imminent release, some commenters have pointed out that a similar situation occurred just before the game launched on Xbox, which bodes well for the Switch version. It will be particularly intriguing to see if Genshin Impact on Nintendo consoles is exclusive to the Switch 2, especially since there have been concerns within the community about miHoYo facing challenges getting it to run on the original Switch, which could explain the delay.

For now, we’ll have to wait for miHoYo or HoYoVerse to provide any official updates, and given the lengthy wait, their silence on the Switch version is certainly noticeable.
