AI Now Lets You Remix YouTube Shorts from Other Creators
Google has rolled out an exciting new feature for YouTube Shorts called Remix, allowing users to creatively restyle clips or even insert themselves into others’ videos using Gemini Omni. Now, when you tap the remix icon at the bottom of a YouTube Short, you’ll find an option to “reimagine” the video. This feature lets you prompt Gemini to transform a clip into pixel art, anime, or even a found-footage horror film. You can also get playful by altering elements like inflating heads, adding background characters, dressing people in pirate outfits, or inserting yourself into the scene.
Creators have control over this feature, as they can choose to enable or disable the remixing option. So, if you share a short featuring your kids and want to keep it safe from edits, you can easily turn off the remixing capability. Additionally, any shorts that are remixed through Omni will carry a digital watermark and link back to the original video.
