Red Dead Redemption 2 Enjoys Its Best Year Yet While Judas and the New BioShock Remain Unseen

The upcoming fiscal year is set to be monumental for Take-Two Interactive, primarily driven by the highly anticipated release of GTA VI, which is still on track for November 19, 2026. Alongside this, Take-Two’s mobile and sports titles are expected to contribute significantly. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also likely to perform well, having just experienced its best year since launch. However, two titles you won’t see for at least another year are Judas and BioShock 4.

This information comes from Take-Two’s recent Q4 and full-year earnings report, which revealed plans for six games in the upcoming fiscal year, excluding GTA VI. These include two mobile games, three sports titles (NBA 2K27, PGA TOUR 2K27, and WWE 2K27), and one “platform extension,” essentially a port of an existing game.

Neither Judas nor BioShock fits into this lineup, as both are still marked as TBA. The outlook for the following years appears more promising, with plans for fiscal ’28 and ’29 to introduce one new mobile game, five sports games, three “core new IPs,” and 13 existing IPs, which will include seven sequels and six remakes or remasters.

The delay for Judas and BioShock isn’t particularly surprising. Even if both were ready to launch now, it would be wise to distance their releases from GTA VI due to potential audience overlap. Additionally, both games have faced development challenges in recent years. Judas has been in the works for a decade, while BioShock has been under development since 2019. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has even expressed his disappointment regarding the development progress.

Take-Two’s report for the past year is likely to please shareholders as they await GTA VI. Total net bookings for the quarter reached $1.58 billion, remaining steady compared to the same quarter last year, while full-year net bookings rose by 19 percent to $6.72 billion. Grand Theft Auto V has now sold nearly 230 million units, and Red Dead Redemption 2 has surpassed 85 million copies sold, marking its best year since launch and making it the fourth best-selling game of all time, trailing only Tetris, Minecraft, and GTA V. Take-Two also reaffirmed the November 19 release date for GTA VI and projected net bookings of $8 billion to $8.2 billion for the next year, indicating a roughly 20 percent increase from this year.
