Mastering the Baby Wyvern: Tips for Hatching and Taming in Crimson Desert
Taming the Baby Wyvern in Crimson Desert can be a bit tricky, especially if you’re not the most patient player. Unlike the Phoenix, which requires some aerial trickery, or the Iron Eagle that demands a bar of platinum, this flying creature is a much more laid-back endeavor.
To get started, you’ll need to locate a wyvern egg and hatch it, which will then register as your pet. The exciting part? Future updates promise that this pet will evolve into a mount as it matures. Here’s what you need to know to hatch your Baby Wyvern in Crimson Desert.
First things first, you’ll need the Focused Force Palm ability. If you missed this during Chapter 4 on your way to Scholastone (like I did), and the phantom doesn’t show up at the blockage between Fort Perwin and Kharonso, you’ll have to wait until Chapter 9 to acquire it.
In the initial quest, The Calling, you’ll enter a desert temple where you must purify the statues using Focused Force Palm. Successfully doing this will unlock the skill in your ability tree.
Next, head to Wyvern’s Cradle located in the southwest of Deleysia, the easternmost region in Pywel. This spot is just west of Dewhaven on the map, north of Three Brothers’ Cliff. Clear out the Wyvernflame enemies in the area, and you’ll be ready to tame your dragon.
If you’re on the Children of the Woods quest from the Pororin Forest Guardians, make sure to talk to Shai in the nest; otherwise, you won’t be able to use Focused Force Palm (probably because they’re too close to the cave). You can also check out the process in a video, but here’s a quick rundown:
If you do everything right, the egg will start to shake and glow. After a few minutes, the intensity of the glow and shaking will ramp up, signaling that it’s time to approach and interact with the egg to hatch your new pet. The Baby Wyvern will appear and immediately register to you. Unlike smaller bird pets, it’s a bit too large to perch on your arm, so it will mostly hover nearby.
