Top JRPG Classics Now Available for Purchase on GOG

If you’re a PC gamer who loves diving into Japanese role-playing games, now is the perfect moment to check out GOG. The storefront is currently rolling out some impressive discounts on a variety of JRPGs.

These enticing prices are part of the celebration for the Mana franchise making its debut on GOG, featuring Square Enix’s 2020 HD remaster of The Legends of Mana and the 2021 release of Trials of Mana. Both titles are included in the sale, with discounts of 60% and 70%, respectively.

Originally a side story in Square’s Final Fantasy series, the Mana franchise carved out its own identity with Secret of Mana, the second game in the series. While GOG’s offerings lean towards more recent titles, both The Legends of Mana and Trials of Mana serve as excellent entry points for newcomers.

The real highlight of this event is the substantial discounts on a range of fantastic JRPGs. Here are a few standout titles that are definitely worth your attention and investment.

Among the many Final Fantasy games featured in the GOG sale, you can’t go wrong with either Final Fantasy 7 or Final Fantasy 8 Remastered. Final Fantasy 7 remains a fan favorite, even receiving a full remake, while Final Fantasy 8 boasts a beloved cast of characters that continues to spark discussions among fans.

If you’re in the mood for something outside of Final Fantasy, consider giving Romancing SaGa a try. This franchise emphasizes non-linear and emergent gameplay, with its remasters and later entries incorporating modern features like New Game Plus to encourage multiple playthroughs.

With a wealth of incredible JRPGs available in the GOG sale, make sure to seize the opportunity and grab the titles that catch your eye before the discounts wrap up on June 8.
