Infiltrating the Hotel in 007 First Light: Secure the Press Badge or Sneak in Through the Window

After navigating the lengthy tutorial, your first real challenge in 007 First Light is to infiltrate the hotel during Bond’s mission in Slovakia. If you’re a seasoned Hitman player, you might already be familiar with the routes and aiming for related achievements. However, if this is your first experience with an IOI stealth game, this is your opportunity to explore how to access restricted areas and evade vigilant guards. Here’s how to successfully breach the hotel.

The game nudges you towards acquiring a press badge for some classic Bond-style social engineering at the hotel’s back entrance. You’ll need to find an ID badge to get through the security checkpoint.

To locate the press badge, listen in on a journalist in a tan pantsuit to your left as you approach the outdoor terrace. She has hidden her colleague’s badge in a flower pot on the lower level, just down the staircase you just ascended, in a grey concrete pot on the railing near a decorative, boarded-up well.

There’s also a second press badge tucked away in a metal case inside the security tent. To grab this one, use the dart phone on the guard next to it, then sneak behind the other guard to quickly snatch the badge. This method is more suited for speedrunners, as the flower pot badge is easier to obtain.

If you prefer to enter without being seen, you can create a distraction on the terrace. First, you’ll need to find a lighter. Look for one with a staff member sitting on a bench chatting with a maid or with a guy engrossed in his phone on a bench one level below. In either case, follow the yellow garden hose at his feet and turn it on to divert his attention. While he’s distracted, you can grab his lighter.

On the upper terrace, locate the wheelbarrow filled with dry leaves to the left of the security checkpoint entrance. Set the leaves on fire, and the guard watching the nearby ledge will leave in a panic. While he’s away, vault over the railing, climb along the ledge, ascend the drain pipe to the next level, and slip through the open window directly above the security tent. Remarkably, no one will notice your stealthy maneuver!

The most adaptable entry point into the hotel is past the security guards on the right side of the terrace near the press checkpoint tent. Here, you can employ all of Bond’s tactics: bluffing, gadgets, and pure stealth.
