Steam Deck Prices Increase by Over $200

Valve has raised the price of the Steam Deck, but the good news is that it’s now back in stock. The 512GB Steam Deck OLED is now priced at $789, up from $549, while the 1TB model has increased to $949 from $649. Currently, both versions are available for purchase on Steam, with an estimated delivery time of three to five business days.

The company attributes this price hike to “rising memory and storage costs.” While the Steam Deck itself remains unchanged, these new prices reflect the current landscape of component costs and various global logistical challenges affecting the industry. Valve has promised to keep users informed of any further changes.

Additionally, there are refurbished Steam Deck options available, including the 512GB OLED model for $629 and the 1TB OLED model for $759.

Earlier this year, Valve updated the Steam Deck’s store listing, indicating that the handheld gaming PC would experience “intermittent” stock issues in certain regions due to shortages in memory and storage. These shortages have also impacted Valve’s plans for the Steam Machine and Steam Frame, which were initially slated for a 2026 launch but are now expected to ship sometime this year.

On a positive note, Valve did release the Steam Controller, which was announced alongside the Steam Machine and Frame late last year, on May 4th.

The memory crisis isn’t just affecting Valve; in April, Lenovo raised the price of the Legion Go 2 by several hundred dollars, and both Sony and Nintendo have also announced price increases for the PlayStation and Switch 2.
