Exciting New Naruto Games Scheduled for Release in 2027

The Naruto anime is gearing up to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2027, and TV Tokyo has hinted at exciting developments for the franchise in both television and gaming to commemorate this milestone.

During an investor Q&A following a recent financial results briefing, TV Tokyo shared their vision for the anniversary. They stated, “We see the 25th anniversary [of Naruto] as the beginning of a new stage, and we have several projects planned to capture that. New projects, including videos and games developed with new partners, are planned for 2027 and beyond.” This aligns with comments from managing director Koichi Komaru, who emphasized the goal of building global momentum for the anniversary.

This renewed focus on Naruto is significant, especially since the franchise has been relatively quiet. The anime Naruto: Shippuden concluded in 2017, and since then, the spotlight has largely been on Boruto. The last game tied to the franchise was Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, released in 2026. With this context, it seems like Naruto is ripe for a major resurgence in both TV and gaming.

While TV Tokyo hasn’t revealed many specifics about the upcoming projects, fans are hopeful for new animated content, perhaps something akin to a short special like My Hero Academia’s upcoming I Am a Hero Too. Additionally, it’s been a while since a standout Naruto game has been released. If the series could deliver another title on par with Dragon Ball FighterZ or the beloved Ultimate Ninja Storm games, it would surely delight fans.

Fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait too long for TV Tokyo to unveil its plans for Naruto’s 25th anniversary in 2027. If luck is on our side, we might even see a new Naruto game showcased at one of the many events happening this summer.
