Tundra Esports Parts Ways with Dota 2 Team as 1win Takes Over Roster
Tundra Esports has officially announced its exit from the competitive Dota 2 scene, concluding a six-year journey that featured a championship win at The International 2022 and numerous prestigious tournament titles.
In a statement shared on social media, the organization revealed that its entire Dota 2 roster, along with the coach, will be continuing their journey under the name 1win (1w Team).
The roster making the move includes two-time TI champion 33, bzm, Pure, Ari, and Whitemon, along with coach MoonMeander. This lineup has proven to be one of the top teams globally, securing several major victories this competitive season, including three consecutive BLAST Slam titles.
“After an unforgettable and successful six years in Dota 2 with the legendary team, Tundra Esports is preparing to begin a new chapter,” the organization stated.
Tundra reflected on its accomplishments in Dota 2, particularly celebrating its crowning achievement at TI 2022, where it claimed the Aegis of Champions. The organization also highlighted more recent successes, such as wins at FISSURE Universe Episode 4, BLAST Slam 3, BLAST Slam 4, BLAST Slam 5, DreamLeague Season 28, and ESL One Birmingham 2026.
The Europe-based organization expressed gratitude to its players and coach for their contributions, emphasizing the passion and excitement they brought to fans worldwide. Tundra also acknowledged its long-time partner for their support throughout the team’s competitive journey.
“Our team brought passion, brilliance, joy, and excitement to millions of fans around the world, creating memories that will forever be part of Tundra’s history,” the statement continued.
Tundra’s last appearance was at BLAST Slam 7, where they finished in 9th-10th place, earning $15,000 in prize money.
While the organization did not specify the reasons for its departure from Dota 2, the transfer ensures that the roster remains intact as they head into future tournaments under 1win’s banner. With the roster now officially part of 1win, all eyes will be on their performance as the competitive season progresses, culminating in TI 2026 in Shanghai, where Tundra is among the seven direct invites.
Tundra’s exit adds to a growing trend of organizations leaving Dota 2, following the recent departures of South American teams over financial viability and sustainability concerns.
